Robin Hood

One of the most memorable movies from my teenage years would have to be Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.  It had everything, really.  The hot star of the moment (Kevin Costner), great action, one of the best soundtracks of all time (which we actually used for my favorite marching band show of high school – yes, I’m a dork), and a key ingredient:  parental skepticism.  The fact that it was questionable for us to go see it (witchcraft, PG-13 rating, etc.) made it absolutely MORE desirable.  I happen to still think it’s a decent movie, and it really doesn’t seem like that long ago that it was released, but lo and behold another Robin Hood film is set to drop in May.  It’s got big names as well – directed by Ridley Scott, starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett – but is another Robin Hood movie really necessary?  I mean, couldn’t these people have used their time a little better?  It’s just another reminder that art and statues are a very small part of Hollywood.  It continues to be all about one thing:  money.  But of course I’ll see it, and so will you, and we’ll both feed into that mindset.  And since we’re being forthright, here’s the teaser:
